What is Crisis to Career?
Crisis to Career is a Gwinnett County collaborative partnership focused on helping families and individuals in crisis find resources to meet their basic needs, such as safe housing, food, clothing, and transportation.
The initiative addresses mental and behavioral health coupled with intensive case management. Once the family or individual is stabilized, the initiative guides them to find employment with sustainable wages locate employment with sustainable wages.
Where We Work
Crisis to Career supports at-risk communities in Gwinnett County.
- In the 13-county metro-Atlanta area, Gwinnett County has 27% (22 out of 79) of the communities identified as “at-risk.”
- The population is currently 983,526. It will reach 1.5 million by 2040.
- 13% of children are in poverty.
- Approximately 31,000 Gwinnett citizens were unemployed or underemployed as of December 2024.

Our Story
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Crisis to Career initiative started in June 2021 to help Gwinnett residents recover from the recession and secure stable employment.
Since then, the collaborative has helped thousands of Gwinnett County residents and added partners like Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries to expand our support and impact.

Leadership & Partners

Delivers essential food, case management, and emergency housing assistance.

Provides family support services coupled with intensive case management, behavioral/mental health services, measuring and tracking psychosocial resiliency, essential data collection, and sharing for evaluation and improvement.

Supplies caring employment specialists to connect clients to partner employers with open job opportunities, guides them to develop effective resumes and vocational plans, and connects them to mentors and peer-support networks. Once employed, GCO continues to be a resource for future skills development and job-placement assistance.
